TRIP Magazine Renews Sponsorship
with Meineke Car Care Bowl for 2006

TRIP will publish Official Fan Guide for 4th Straight Year

Charlotte, N.C. – The Meineke Car Care Bowl has reached an agreement with TRIP Magazine for 2006, designating TRIP the Official Fan Guide of the game. TRIP will devote the first 24 pages of its December 2006 issue to the Meineke Car Care Bowl, as well as feature the game on the cover. The magazine will have a run of over 50,000 copies. TRIP has been the official fan guide for the bowl game since its second year in 2003.

“We are very happy to continue our partnership with TRIP Magazine,” said Will Webb, executive director of the Meineke Car Care Bowl. “TRIP has proven to be a tremendous asset to the bowl through its distribution network. The fact that it will again showcase the bowl, and at the same time proactively answer many questions about the game and the city of Charlotte, makes it an invaluable resource for fans.”

“We are pleased to once again be working closely with Raycom Sports to deliver the ultimate fan experience through our comprehensive guide to the Meineke Car Care Bowl and the city of Charlotte,” said Dana Jordan, publisher of Charlotte TRIP Magazine. “We will continue to produce a quality resource for the fans so that they have all the information they need to enjoy their stay in the Queen City.”

College football’s first bowl game to call the Carolinas home, the Meineke Car Care Bowl will take place on Saturday, December 30th at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte. Set to kick off at 1:00 p.m., the game will feature the Atlantic Coast Conference against the Big East Conference or Navy and will be televised by ESPN.

The Meineke Car Care Bowl was named one of the five-best start-ups in sports over the past five years by the Sports Business Journal, behind only the NFL Houston Texans and ESPN the Magazine. The game has sold out two of its four years and averaged more than 64,000 fans each year.

The inaugural game, played on Dec. 28, 2002 before a sold-out stadium, saw Virginia defeat West Virginia, 48-22. On Dec. 27, 2003, Virginia once again claimed victory, this time over Pittsburgh, 23-16. The third year produced another sellout, as on Dec. 30, 2004, Boston College defeated North Carolina, 37-24. And least year’s game, on Dec. 31, 2005 saw NC State defeat South Florida, 14-0.

Upper Level Seats are priced at $30 and Lower Level Seats are $55. Individual tickets will be on sale at a later date. Club Level seats are only available through ticket and sponsorship packages.
